Is This The Lizard From THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN??

These days it seems that the toy makers are the ones to let the cat out of the bag regarding characters and their visage. Unless of course it's MarketSaw! (First image of the Na'vi) :-)

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN is following suit as a fairly detailed image of The Lizard's face is nicely placed on some type of remote controller for a Mega Blocks toy. I am guessing for a vehicle of some sort?

I actually like this image much more than the concept art for The Lizard that we have already seen. I want to see some emotion in the face though - similar to what we have seen in RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (which is light years beyond the ape facial prosthetics of the original show). Don't let me down guys!!

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN spins into theaters July 3, 2012.

New Series From Digital Revolution Studios On 3net: BAMMA USA Fight Nights

Tim here, I got some news on a show that I just worked on for Digital Revolution Studios.

BAMMA USA has been the most active mixed martial arts provider in Southern California producing seven action-packed installments in 2011, and now sports fans can view their adrenaline filled events in 3D for the first time ever. 3net, the joint venture between 24/7 network from Sony, Discovery and IMAX, has combined forces with Digital Revolution Studios (DRS) and BAMMA USA to televise the mixed martial arts fights in 3D from this past year from BAMMA USA FIGHT NIGHT starting on December 15 at 9PM ET/PT on 3net (DIRECTV, Channel 107).

Combining the fastest growing sport in the world with three-dimensional entertainment provides the ultimate viewing experience. “MMA in 3D puts you so close to the action that you feel as if you are in the cage with the referee. You can almost touch the fighters and if one of the fighters gets hit and sweat is flying your way, you are going to duck and avoid it,” said BAMMA USA chief executive officer Brett Roberts.

“3net is always looking to bring our viewers the most diverse and compelling 3D programming available,” said 3net’s President and CEO Tom Cosgrove. “The action-packed sport of MMA is the kind of big event ‘first-ever’ 3D content our consumers have come to expect.”

For the first time ever, viewers can anticipate hours of 3D eye-catching entertainment including live commentary, slick submissions, exciting knockouts and competitive fights from some of the most promising and talented athletes on the west coast. Each and every event provides different results and increasing excitement which is one of the reasons why DRS decided to work with the mixed martial arts promotion.

Digital Revolution Studios President Craig Tanner specified why it was a good match to work alongside the top Southern California MMA provider stating, “DRS was excited to work with BAMMA USA, not only for the solid reputation BAMMA USA had in the MMA community, but also because of their constant commitment to increase the quality of fighters and production value of each event.”

This is an exciting show to check out! It was a pleasure for this writer to get to work with DRS and be part of the team that provided this great new 3D content.

You can check out more about the show on 3net's website: http://www.3net.com/show/70/bamma-usa-fight-night

Jim Dorey's Best 3D Movies Of 2011!!

Here's my annual look at the best of the best 3D movies of 2011! Of course it is solely my opinion and I am seeking your thoughts in the comments.

I wanted to distinguish a few things, like the best native 3D, converted 3D, animated 3D and then combine them all into one top ten list that ALSO considers how well the story was delivered. We may be a 3D site, but a bad movie made with great 3D is still a bad movie. So hopefully these lists help a bit!

Oh and I put them in reverse order to add some dramatic flare... ;-)

Here's my list of the 6 best native 3D movies of 2011 (not considering story):
6. DRIVE ANGRY
5. THE DARKEST HOUR
4. THE THREE MUSKETEERS
3. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES
2. TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON
1. HUGO

My list of the 6 best 3D animation movies of 2011 (not considering story):
6. HAPPY FEET 2
5. CARS 2
4. RIO
3. KUNG FU PANDA 2
2. PUSS IN BOOTS
1. THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN (it's hard to place a category on this!)

My list of the 6 best 3D conversion movies of 2011 (not considering story):
6. THE LION KING
5. GREEN LANTERN
4. IMMORTALS
3. THE GREEN HORNET
2. THOR
1. HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PT.2

So here's my ALL-IN TOP TEN LIST (CONSIDERING THE STORY):
10. IMMORTALS ($196m)
9. THE LION KING 3D [Less impact on this list as a re-release] ($492m)
8. THE THREE MUSKETEERS ($132m)
7. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES ($1,043m)
6. THE DARKEST HOUR ($8m - just opened)
5. THOR ($449m)
4. TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON ($1,124m)
3. THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN ($271m)
2. HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PT.2 ($1,328m)
1. HUGO ($52m worldwide)

And special distinction for CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS as the best 3D documentary. It was simply gorgeous!

...And let me leave you with one final thought, HUGO is not only the best 3D movie of 2011, it is the best movie of 2011 period. What say YOU?

MUST WATCH: New Footage In Japanese Trailer For JOHN CARTER!

Thanks to our friends at FirstShowing for turning my head on to this one! PLENTY of new footage in this Japanese trailer for Disney's JOHN CARTER.

This trailer sets up what was definitely missing in the material released thus far: The pre-Mars situation for the main character played by Taylor Kitsch. So much so, I consider it a little spoilery. Keep that in mind if you decide to watch it.

Here's the movie's storyline:
From Academy Award–winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes JOHN CARTER - a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

**WARNING: Some Spoilers Exist In This Trailer**

JOHN CARTER is transported to theaters on March 9, 2012.

New Images From Pixar's BRAVE And Tim Burton's FRANKENWEENIE

Check out a couple of new images from upcoming 2012 Disney productions: Tim Burton's FRANKENWEENIE and Pixar's BRAVE.

I love the palette of colors in BRAVE - I think they have nailed the Scottish influence admirably.

Here's the storyline:
Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish.

Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, “Brave” is a grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and the signature Pixar humor enjoyed by audiences of all ages. The film takes aim at theaters on June 22, 2012, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters. A grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and signature Pixar humor, “Brave” uncovers a new tale in the mysterious Highlands of Scotland where the impetuous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) defies an age-old custom and inadvertently unleashes chaos, forcing her to discover the meaning of true bravery before it’s too late.”

BRAVE hits theaters June 22, 2012.

--AND--

Tim Burton's FRANKENWEENIE comes from the youthful mind of the creative genius as this project is actually a reboot of one of his earlier works. Both were shot in black and white and makes use of stop motion animation.

Here's the storyline:
From Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.

Looking forward to seeing some vintage Burton nightmares in action! :-) FRANKENWEENIE opens October 5, 2012.

Jackson's PRODUCTION VIDEO 5 Focuses On Location Shooting!!

Man, I love these production videos from Peter Jackson's THE HOBBIT! They are just what we all need to stay in tune with the project(s) and as I have said before - it practically eliminates the need to have spies on set sending us bits and pieces of spoilers! Though I kinda miss that on this production.

Production video #5 focuses on location shooting and behind-the-scenes action. GORGEOUS locations as always - I HAVE to get down to New Zealand one of these years.

So here's the latest and greatest on one of the top anticipated movies of 2012!!

Peter Jackson has essentially wrapped us all up a gift here.
He HAS to know that! Thanks Peter!! :-)

MUST WATCH: New UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING Trailer! Check Out The Uber-Lycan!!

Saw this trailer in front of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO (which rocked btw) last night! The UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING trailer reveals much more including a great glympse of the new uber-lycan.

Further, Eve (India Eisley) is shown to have a pretty big role in this movie. You'll see what I mean.

Note how humans are now up close and personal now with UNDERWORLD characters. Should prove interesting!

Here's the storyline:
The vampire warrioress Selene, escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.

Don't forget I am going to be releasing a series of interviews with the team that I had the pleasure of meeting over a three day stay on the UNDERWORLD set in Vancouver. Definitely stay tuned for the that in early January!

Check out the new trailer:

Reader Review: What Did You Think About TINTIN?

UPDATED! MUST SEE: New PROMETHEUS Photo And Final Teaser Trailer!

**SAME DAY UPDATE: I've added the third and final teaset trailer below!

Excited yet? Ridley Scott is set to drop his trailer for PROMETHEUS tomorrow!

Many of you may have seen the bootleg version that is bouncing around the interwebs lately but I won't be posting it as quite literally the copy sucks. You need to see this thing in true HD! I started watching it and thought to myself: "Why am I ruining this trailer - I want to see it perfectly the first time because there is only ONE first time."

And so we wait. But it will be worth it, just as it was with THE HOBBIT we saw yesterday.

This photo of Michael Fassbender hits home for me - his face really does look androidish. The 'cave' he is in certainly seems like it was mechanically mined, like the 'chunnel' under the English Channel.

Here's the final teaser trailer for PROMETHEUS! You can see the first two right here.

Be sure to check out the trailer tomorrow right here! So far the trailer previews look AMAZING, especially the surface shots!!

Official Storyline For GRAVITY!!

Yes! While we have all imagined what GRAVITY's story will be about we have had nothing concrete up until now. In fact with the musical chairs for the lead roles just coming to a close just in the past few months the whole project was in jeopardy. Now we have everything sewn up and the prospect of Alfonso Cuaron weaving his magic again - this time in space. Will he attempt the unthinkable? One take? Is that even possible? How far can he take his art?

For the record, GRAVITY will be post converted to 3D.

Here's the official storyline for the movie:
Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

**UPDATED!! MUST WATCH: TWO New Preview Clips From PROMETHEUS!!

**SAME DAY UPDATE: Check out the SECOND teaser clip from Ridley Scott below!!

Ridley Scott
takes us on a brief tour of the upcoming trailer for PROMETHEUS!

And here is some rather spoilerish (You have been WARNED) info from the director himself:

On using H.R. Giger (original ALIEN designing artist)--
"…yeah, I brought him in, I showed him what we were doing, showed him the story and he liked it a lot. So he’s doing a little bit of work for me. He’s been doing some murals, big murals, which we’ll see in almost one of the first chambers we encounter when we land where we’re gonna go."

On the Space Jockey--
"I was always amazed that no one asked who the hell the Space Jockey was. He wasn’t even called the Space Jockey. During the film they started to call it the Space Jockey. I don’t know who started that one off. I always thought it was amazing that no one ever asked who he was, and why was he there? What was all that about? I sat thinking about this for a while and thought, well, there’s a story! And the other four [films] missed it! So, here it is. And this one does actually raise all kinds of other questions, because if someone could, a being, could be as monstrously clever to create something like we experienced in the very first one – I always figured it’s a weapon, and I always figured that [the ship in the first Alien] was a carrier of weapons. Therefore, who is that, inside that suit? That wasn’t a skeleton, that was a suit. And if you open up the suit, what do you get inside it? And why were they going, where were they going?

On whether the original Alien Xenomorph will appear in PROMETHEUS--
"No. Absolutely not. They squeezed it dry. He (the xenomorph) did very well. (He laughs) He survived, he’s now in Disneyland in Orlando, and no way am I going back there. How did he end up in Disneyland? I saw him in Disneyland, Jesus Christ!"

Here is the official storyline:
Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. MUST WATCH: First Trailer For WRATH OF THE TITANS!

Great day for trailers! Here is the first trailer for WRATH OF THE TITANS!

To review, the movie was not shot in native 3D, but will be converted in post production. Let's be clear on this: Warner Bros. has learned their lesson from CLASH OF THE TITANS and will be doing it right this time.

Director Jonathan Liebesman (BATTLE: LOS ANGELES) sends the gods reeling in WRATH as the titans are freed on Earth to wreak havoc...

Here is the official synopsis:
A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus (Worthington) – the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson) – is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.

Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Huston). The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’ remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon’s demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Personally I like the double-sided sword-fighter the best! I'm anxious to see this top flight cast at work again, but THIS TIME in a wonderfully crafted 3D experience.

Look for WRATH OF THE TITANS on March 30, 2012.

Get Ready For A New iTunes AVATAR Special Release!

Fox is going to release an interactive version of AVATAR that will allow you to change the point of view from finished product to the various stages of production, like green screens, CGI and performance capture.

You have probably seen much of this new content already through various behind-the-scenes clips, but never all together in one release.

As the title suggests, it is iTunes only. I already have three different AVATAR disc releases so I wouldn't be too thrilled about another, but a digital only version is interesting.

They call the green screen functionality "Green Screen X-ray" and it looks cool. You can move your cursor around to view the green screen behind the polished final version.

Here's the descriptive trailer for it:

Available December 20, only on iTunes.

MUST SEE: New Poster For ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

We haven't seen a lot of material from the production of Timur Bekmambetov's ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE KILLER yet, but this lenticular poster goes a long way towards mitigating that. Tim Burton Productions is behind the movie as well.

Click on the images to enlarge.

Yes, these two images are really just one poster, but with lenticular lenses in front so that when you walk by it the poster changes from day to night. Cool. We have seen similar efforts before and they are an impressive memory trigger that the movie will be different and in 3D.

Here's the official storyline for the movie:
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter explores the secret life of our greatest President, and the untold story that shaped our nation. Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (director of Wanted) bring a fresh and visceral voice to the blood-thirsty lore of the vampire, imagining Lincoln as history's greatest hunter of the undead.

Look for ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER on June 22, 2012.

MUST WATCH: New Trailer For JACK THE GIANT KILLER!

We have been waiting a long time for this one, but finally it's here - the trailer for JACK THE GIANT KILLER!

Director Bryan Singer doesn't disappoint. Those giants look absolutely stunning and I think Jack is perfectly cast (Nicholas Hoult).

Here's the movie's storyline:
Jack the Giant Killer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend—and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Singer will direct from a screenplay by Darren Lemke and Christopher McQuarrie and Dan Studney, story by Darren Lemke & David Dobkin. The film will be produced by Neal Moritz, David Dobkin, Bryan Singer and Patrick McCormick.

The creative filmmaking team includes Singer’s longtime collaborators, director of photography Newton Thomas Sigel (X-MEN, SUPERMAN RETURNS) and editor John Ottman (X2, SUPERMAN RETURNS). The production designer is Gavin Bocquet (STAR WARS: EPISODE III – REVENGE OF THE SITH).

MUST WATCH: Trailer 2 For GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE!

Ghost Rider rides again in GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE and this trailer kicks some serious butt. I have to say the first movie in this franchise flamed out for me, but this one looks much, much darker.

You won't see as much humor in this trailer as the first one we saw in August (so no Cage pissing fire). But you WILL see a heckuva lot more carnage.

Here's the official storyline:
Nicolas Cage returns as Johnny Blaze in Columbia Pictures’ and Hyde Park Entertainment’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. In the successor to the worldwide hit Ghost Rider, Johnny – still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter – is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Ciaran Hinds). At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy – and possibly rid himself of his curse forever. Directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. Screenplay by Scott M. Gimple & Seth Hoffman and David S. Goyer. Story by David S. Goyer. Based on the Marvel Comic. Produced by Steven Paul, Ashok Amritraj, Michael De Luca, Avi Arad, and Ari Arad.

So mark February 17 on your calendars - it looks like it will knock the chill clean off of you!

MUST SEE: New PROMETHEUS Poster!

Oh yes! Check it out...

The search for our beginning could lead to our end.

You don't have to say too much about it - just kinda stare it.

CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2 In Development

According to Variety, Sony Pictures Animation's CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2 is starting to develop.

Apparently the studio has tapped two of their artists to direct the sequel, Cody Cameron (OPEN SEASON 3) and Kris Pearn. They were also on the original film as story artist and head of story respectively. Phil Lord and Chris Miller (the directors for the first iteration) will executive produce.

Not much is known about where they are taking the movie except that it "will continue the adventures of inventor Flint Lockwood."

It is generally an automatic announcement for animations (alliteration!) that if the original does well (CWACOM made ~$230m), there will be a sequel(s). I happened to really enjoy the first one and its brilliant use of color, cool story and sight gags. Looking forward to it.

Must See: First Official Photos From THE GREAT GATSBY

Baz Luhrmann's THE GREAT GATSBY has released its first official photos and they don't disappoint. Of course it is a $127 million production, so expect much more of where that came from as they stretch the dollar in Australia.

One can almost imagine what it would feel like to be sitting with them during that era. Clearly the wardrobe will be stunning. I'm anxious to see more - a teaser trailer perhaps.

Here's the movie's storyline:
“The Great Gatsby” follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits.

As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

THE GREAT GATSBY stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton and Carey Mulligan.

Supposedly Oheka Castle (pictured) on the Gold Coast of Long Island was a partial inspiration for Gatsby's estate. Gorgeous or what? I love the reflecting pools and landscaping!

Can't wait to see what Luhrmann has created here.

THE GREAT GATSBY opens December 25, 2012.

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Legend3D , the leading innovator in 2D-to-3D conversion technology, today announced that it closed on a $19 million Series E Preferred Stock offering, to further expand its leadership in 3D conversion. MUST WATCH: Trailer For MEN IN BLACK 3!

Well this was a long time coming and I must say I didn't know what to expect. The trailer seems to hold together quite well though and the "cliffhanger" at the end works, so good job Sony.

Very curious to see more of Josh Brolin's Agent K! The graffiti alien seems a bit childish to me, but I am hoping for never-before-seen aliens in this thing, so maybe it works in the end? I mean creatures that are beyond imagining and haven't been thought of before - similar to the aliens in THE DARKEST HOUR.

Here's the movie's storyline:
In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.

MIB3 is in theaters May 25, 2012.

Not bad right? We know the MIB formula and that it works so I am just looking for spectacle and for an interesting story. As of right now, I'm in!

MUST SEE: New Teaser Poster For THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN!

Check out this artistic poster from our friendly neighborhood Spider-man!
Love the blending of shadows in this thing.

"THE UNTOLD STORY" - So obviously a departure from Sam Raimi's web-head universe... but just how far departed is it? We know Gwen Stacy plays a much larger role for Marc Webb: Does she die in the movie like in the comics or does she stick around? Well for one thing it was the Green Goblin who caused her death in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #121 but clearly the GG isn't in this film. Will The Lizard kill her in cold blood? (Hah, I like that pun!)

Personally I think Stone has signed on for 2 or 3 films so she's safe. Here is what she said on Jay Leno: "There's a few 'Spider-Men' [movies], so I may have to keep [my blonde hair] for a couple of years." Hmmm... we'll see about that.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN opens July 3!

What about you? What changes do you think Webb has in store for us? Good or bad? How do you feel about mechanical webslingers?

So far so good for me though. Very cool teaser poster!

AWOLNATION’s 3D Music Video 'NOT YOUR FAULT' Released

Hollywood, CA (Dec 8, 2011), Stereoscopic 3D production studio, The Faktion, recently produced the first stop-motion, 3D music video for burgeoning artist, AWOLNATION (Red Bull Records).

You can check out the 2D version right here.

Faktion Director, Cameron Duddy (Bruno Mars, Rachel Roy, Awolnation), has now created 3 music videos for AWOLNATION, including the recent Gold Record single, “Sail”. For “Not Your Fault”, Duddy took his vision to a new level in conceiving a world of unhinged retro fantasy - one that involves an abominable snowman, rapacious sea monsters, aliens and one epic moon battle.

At its core, 'Not Your Fault' is a love story: A damsel in distress that can only be saved by a fearless hero. That hero being Aaron Bruno from AWOLNATION, backed only by his (somewhat) fearless band. Its comedic and graphic violence, elaborate sets and fantastical monsters juxtapose the video’s heartfelt story.

The live action performance of AWOL was shot in native stereoscopic 3D, and collaged with 2D cutouts layered into Z-space in post-production. The stop-motion animation was also shot in native stereoscopic 3D, using advanced motion control rigs and executed over a record breaking four weeks by a talented team of animators from projects such “Celebrity Death Match” and “Robot Chicken”.

Cameron Duddy states: “Not Your Fault” is a prime example of craftsmanship, collaboration and creativity at it’s best. The level of complexity and innovation required by every department not only met, but exceeded everyone’s expectations.”

Craig Bernard, Faktion’s Executive Producer and owner of Boulevard Industries, has over 12 years experience producing music videos and commercials. His push to produce the video in 3D was motivated by a practical analysis of the growing market for 3D in the home and on mobile devices. According to Craig Bernard, “3D will ultimately reinvent the music video”. Although 3D is still in its infancy, short form 3D content is the ideal way to explore the medium on glasses free handsets; home theaters and 3D enabled laptops and tablets.

“Not Your Fault” premiered on MTV November 24th and is currently #5 on the best new videos list at Mtv’s Push Program. The full 3D version of “Not Your Fault” premiered on the Nintendo DS3 December 7th, and is available to over 7 million DS3 owners worldwide. A theatrical premier of the music video is slated for early 2012, along with global 3D distribution within the home and mobile 3D devices launching in 2012.

About The Faktion:
Founded in 2009, The Faktion is a company of 3D creative and executive professionals versed in the demands of stereoscopic 3D production, post-production, visual effects, 3D marketing and distribution. The Faktion’s combined experience ranges from award-winning feature films, global brand launches, television series, music videos and commercials. Clients include: Scion, Red Bull, Real D, Ford/Team Detroit, Ogilvy/CHI for American Family Insurance, and Coca-Cola. For more information visit: www.TheFaktion.com

TINTIN Passes $220 Million In Overseas Box Office

December 21st can't come soon enough!

TINTIN has been doing very well overseas as expected as he has a huge following over in his native land. Thus far the movie has accumulated $221,600,000 in the foreign market and is posed for a massive release in less than 2 weeks in North America.

Spielberg and Jackson's movie was just released in Japan where it earned $4.1m on opening which helped TINTIN stay hot, declining only 16% week over week.

Any guesses on the box office here in North America on opening weekend? :-)

First Look: Sam Worthington In WRATH OF THE TITANS

Let's all assume for a moment that Warner Bros. has learned their lesson about nasty 3D conversions and will take the time and money to do it right (I truly believe that they have).

What we have is CLASH OF THE TITANS (~$500m) more or less begging for a sequel. That and the fact that Warner snagged Jonathan Liebesman (BATTLE: LOS ANGELES) to direct, which is great for audiences in my mind.

Remember that Sam Worthington (photo left) wants a better effort this time:
"I just think we can improve on it… I think the first one, we kind of let down some people. And yeah, I totally agree. The only point of doing a sequel is either the audience demands it or you believe you can better the first one. What we’re setting out to do with this one — the writers and the director and myself — is improve. I think I can act f***ing better, to be honest … Just take all the notes from people that I have been reading about on the ‘net and give them a movie they f***ing want. This one I want to kind of try to satisfy a lot more people."

...and it looks like his hair is into the role! :-) Just kidding Sam...

Liebesman was just as adamant:
"I think what you have to remember is the first film was neither shot nor edited with 3D in mind. It was shot as a 2D movie and edited as a 2D film, and they decided to convert it with six or seven weeks to go until release, which is insane; the technology was not there. That's why we're conceiving it from the start, from the ground up, in 3D, editing in 3D for 3D." "The big question was to shoot native 3D or not. I tested a lot of digital cameras, and quite frankly, because I'm going for a sort of much grittier, grounded look in Clash 2, the look I want is almost Gladiator with fantastical creatures in it, I found that the characteristics of film were more what I was going for."

The movie centers on the story that Hades (Ralph Fiennes) kidnaps Zeus (Liam Neeson) and takes him to hell.

SPOILER ALERT BELOW
See that trident Worthington is holding? It's one of several weapons that Perseus has to collect "in order to create one uber-weapon." Says Liebesman: "But that's probably a massive spoiler. I haven't practiced being spoiler proof yet."

Liebesman started shooting in March of this year for a March 30, 2012 release.
